Merit Scholarships
We want cost to be less of a barrier to an accredited U.S. education. Every year, IGS recognizes outstanding students with merit scholarships — and every application is automatically considered.
MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
Up to 25 students awarded each year
IGS awards merit scholarships to as many as 25 students each year, each worth $500 to $6,000.
No separate scholarship application needed. Every student who applies to IGS is automatically considered — nothing extra to fill out, nothing to miss.
Scholarships are decided by the Principal and Admissions Committee, and students are notified in their acceptance letter. Scholarships are valid for one school year; students are reconsidered each year.
Need-based aid is available too
Merit scholarships aren't the only kind of support. Families can also apply for need-based financial aid and choose a payment plan that fits their budget.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Three things we look for
The committee evaluates students holistically based on these criteria.
Academic excellence
A strong academic record over the previous two years of school, among the top 10% of the applicant pool.
A's in core subjects
A steady A average in core subjects: Math, ELA, History, and Science.
Leadership & community service
Outstanding contributions through leadership or service to school and community.
